Dressing for your body shape

Guest blog by Cimon Styling :: Myer Centre Adelaide

Every Adelady needs to feel comfortable in her own skin! But this doesn’t mean that you can’t keep on trend when dressing for your body shape.

I had the pleasure of styling two very cool Adeladies – Hayley Pearson and Lauren DeCesare, both with very different (and very beautiful) body shapes. Lauren is short and curvy and Hayley is tall and not so curvy, so my aim was to create more curves on Hayley and promote Lauren’s!

So, we went shopping at Myer Centre Adelaide and found some gems:

HAYLEY :: Long and Lean

Tip: Wear tight jeans or pants to show off the long legs and, to give the illusion of curves, match them with a loose or baggy top. Pencil skirts with a baggy t-shirt and a cute blazer/ leather jacket would also look great on Hayley’s body shape.
If you’re long like Hayley, avoid anything too short or too long as it will only accentuate your height. Hayley can also wear clothing that brings her in at the waist as this will create curves.

Styles to suit: Over the knee fitted skirts, off the shoulder dresses

Wearing: Top – Tempt, Jeans – Tempt, Shoes – Shoe Shed

LAUREN :: Short and Curvy

Tip: A V-neck is always good to create length, making the shorter girls look taller than they are. Try to avoid wearing baggy tops, or dresses that don’t go in at the waist. Lauren’s dress is tied at the waist to show off her bangin’ curves and is just below the knee, which gives the illusion she has longer legs. In terms of shoes, try to pick a pair with no ankle strap as these can make the leg look shorter or thicker than it actually is.
For shorties like Lauren, avoid wearing anything too long, as it will make you look shorter than you are.

Styles to suit: Wrap style dresses, peplum tops

Wearing: Dress – Tempt, Shoes – Shoe Shed
